Doubt

I suspect this will be a long post. So right, just skim through if you feel like it. Haha.

Doubt, which I just watched today, was good? Question mark is there because I am not very sure. Funny, if you realise that the play is titled Doubt. Haha. Not really a theatre-going person and I cannot ever imagine myself to be cultured. I really liked the script though, I think the playwright did a great job. It just felt like there was some 'lost energy', which made watching it rather disappointing. Maybe it's cos I got cheap tics. Haha.

It made me think if some plays are better read than seen (on stage). Which is crazy, I know, because plays are meant to be watched.

While it didn't exactly receive a glowing review in the papers, I have decided to trust myself. Reviews are, well, just opinions. And everyone is entitled to that. They have to write something and it's not good to always be sitting on the fence and trying to be nice and politically correct. I used to be reading reviews all the time, okay I still do. I like reading peoples' opinions to things. I could spend hours on amazon reading reviews! But that's another story. Haha.

Sometimes, it's either you like it or you don't. And I remember this particular line from a book very clearly. Something like, you can't spend your life reading all the books in the world, so why waste your time reading something you don't like, just because it received great reviews and/or, is a classic? I was like Wham! It sounds so obvious but I just didn't realise it.

Norgewian Wood by Haruki Murakami- so far so good, very good in fact. Reminds me very much of Catcher in the Rye, I don't know why. (OMG, did you realise, that rhymes!) I'm gonna read it slowly, it's been a LOOONG time since I savoured a book, sad to say.

Okay, is this long enough? I wanted to blog about blogging but I'll save that for when I feel like it. Haha.
